10433. SENSATION SEEKING AND RISK-TAKING IN "THRILL" SPORTS. This paper investigates the psychological concept of sensation (or thrill)-seeking and its relation to risk-taking behaviors, particularly the so-called "thrill" sports. The sensation-seeking trait is defined and its components are analyzed. The analysis explores the links between sensation seeking and personality types and investigates the biological basis of the trait. "Thrill" sports are compared with other, often more destructive, manifestations of thrill-seeking. 15p., 38f., 15b.
