15432. ADOLESCENT HOMOSEXUALITY: THE ROLE FOR FAMILY THERAPISTS. This paper focuses on the much neglected topic of adolescent homosexuality from the perspective of the family therapist. The analysis examines the issues of gay adolescent sexual identity formation, "coming out" to parents and parents' reaction to the disclosure that their child is homosexual, family relations (particularly child-parent) through the gay life cycle and their impact on homosexual couples, and the appropriate role(s) for family therapists in conducting therapy with gays and their families. 12 pages, 29 footnotes, 19 bibliographic references.
