15885. JIMMY CARTER AND U.S. RELATIONS WITH NICARAGUA. Using primary sources, this paper discusses President Carter’s support of the corrupt and repressive Somoza regime, his efforts to create a moderate government in Nicaragua and his decision to support the leftist Sandinistas when they took over.
