This paper is a case analysis and case solution of a popular Harvard Business School case study (491082) by Nitin Nohria and Julie Gladstone on Appex Corporation, a technology firm providing management information systems and intercarrier network services to cellular telephone companies. The analysis considers the challenges that the new COO and soon-to-be CEO Ghosh faced when he joined Appex in May of 1988.
